Why is a healthy lifestyle so important for me?
A healthy lifestyle reduces your risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
A Finnish diabetes prevention study showed that people who improved their lifestyle, compared to those with a poor lifestyle, were 58% less likely to develop diabetes over the following 3.2 years.
People are less likely to develop diabetes when they:
Exercise regularly
Lower their body weight
Increase their dietary fibre intake
Reduce the amount of fats in their diet
