Why is a healthy diet so important for me?
A healthy diet which is high in fibre, low in added sugars and low in saturated fats can help lower your risk of diabetes. In those prone to diabetes, a healthy diet has low salt to reduce your risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
You should eat plenty of vegetables, two servings of fruit daily, wholegrains and lean meats. Remember to drink plenty of water.
If you have any concerns about your diet, please speak to your doctor.
